Allan has been a Pastor for three different churches in
Maryland over the past twenty-nine years. Most recently he is the founding and Senior Pastor of
Harford
Community
Church, in Bel Air, MD, which he has led for 13 years. He oversees a staff of seven and a congregation of over 200. He has helped to lead efforts across the county to link churches, non-profits, businesses and government agencies through the Faith-Based Resource Fair, Clergy brunches, and prayer initiatives.
In addition to his full time role as a Pastor, Allan has also been a writer, conference speaker, counselor, and seminar leader, and church pastor for twenty seven years. He graduated with honors from
Milligan
College (Tennessee), and received an M.S. in Counseling Psychology from
Loyola
College in
Baltimore,
Maryland. He has led spiritual retreats for pastors and lay people, spoken to church groups across many denominations, helped churches and Pastors in crisis. He is sought after for church leadership consultation. He has written a handbook entitled, “Preparing for Marriage”, authored several study guides to the Bible, and has led a seminar in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor entitled, “Couples on the Grow” – an enriching multi-session couples conference. He and his wife are certified trainers for Foster Care Parent Training for
Harford
County.
Allan has been married for twenty-nine years to his wife Peggy, sharing the joy of their two daughters Noel (22) and Katie (21). They live in
Forest Hill,
Maryland.
He helped sponsor and lead the spiritual component of the County’s 9/11 memorial service in 2002 at Ripken Stadium. His church has linked with The Foster Care Parents Association of Harford County to support and encourage their work through special celebrations.
He has spoken in a wide variety of venues from addressing student groups at MIT and
Boston
University to being the keynote speaker for business conferences. He has presented talks on a wide array of topics to audiences of all ages, educational backgrounds, and socio-economic groups. Those topics include Decisions that Make History, The Essentials of Good Business, and relational topics such as, The Life Focus Matrix, The Communication Challenge, Love, Sex, and Dating, Family Finances, Parenting with Purpose, Think Eternity and many other subjects.
He is past President of Chesapeake Habitat for Humanity in
Baltimore,
Maryland. He has worked in the Community Mental Health system of
Harford County,
Maryland, and has served as trainer for the Harford County Hospice Caregivers.
Allan owns, LifeChange Seminars, Inc., which provides, seminars, materials, and consultation services. He has performed executive coaching and been involved in reorganizing several businesses and non-profits. He has extensive expertise in leading seminars for groups, organizations, and businesses dealing with life-changing character issues including: Diamond Leadership Training TM, Corporate Alignment through Mission, Vision and Values development and implementation, and relationship and communication enhancement training.
From 1996 -2003 Allan was an authorized distributor of Inscape instrumented learning inventories. He has facilitated seminars using these materials that: help in personal understanding, team building, efficiency, time management, diversity training, stress management, leadership assessment and training.
From 1998 -2003, Allan was a Senior Consultant, Program Developer and Partner with The PEP Group, Inc. As a key member of PEP’s creative team, Allan was responsible for developing the PEP Group’s programs, workshops, and seminars.
